So I’ve been tinkering with HDR photography for the last few days. I find sunrises to be an interesting subject but the sun tends to darken the foreground. With HDR I can bring out the details of the foreground a little bit.

A nice tip I came across on Youtube is to set one of your custom buttons for HDR.

Mode: Aperture Priority
ISO: 100
F-stop: f11 (for real sunny days perhaps use f16)
White Balance Mode: Cloudy (to bring out vivid colors; Sunny mode is probably good too)
Bracketing: +/-2 (If you want to get 5 exposures then set one at 0, +2, +4 and set another at -4, -2, 0 where the 0 overlaps; take these two sets of photos in quick succession)
Timer: 2-second timer (to prevent camera shake when you press the button)

Here is a shot of the sunrise. It’s not perfect but it’s a start.
